I was browsing the news on Yahoo! today and I came across this article. In Canada, a man is claiming that the courts will not release his children to him because of his weight. A little over a year ago the courts took his kids away from the mother because she had a mental breakdown, drug problems, and couldn't take care of them herself. The father currently weighs 360 pounds and a doctor's report said that he had some mobility problems and he got winded walking in the lobby. It said that he would have trouble keeping up with the kids. But does that justify the court from keeping the kids away? They're not holding the children in foster care until he gets in shape, they are putting the two kids up for adoption so he will not be able to get them back.
